Upcycled Fishing Net Bracelet - Humpback
The "Humpback Whale Bracelet" represents the life of a whale saved from entanglement. This rough but soft rope comes fitted with stainless steel jewelry clasps and connectors. This rope was collected by Melody Webster while working on a beach cleanup project with the Kokua Hawaii Foundation. They collected the derelict rope debris during a coastal cleanup near James Campbell National Park in Hawai'i.
Humpback Whales are some of the largest creatures on the earth. They are majestic animals that have very little to fear in the world. They are relatively slow moving animals that are easily caught by whalers and were nearly hunted to extinction. A new threat to the whales whales is death by entanglement in derelict fishing gear.
Each piece of salvaged rope is unique with slight variations in color and condition, caused by natural weathering during its sea voyage. All bracelets are 100% waterproof. Join us in supporting this important cause by helping spread awareness of marine debris and its negative impacts on the environment.
Each bracelet purchased helps keep our oceans clean & represents the life of a marine animal saved from entanglement.
