Feathers Cyanotype Card
By Emma Freeman Designs
This greeting card has an image of an original cyanotype (also known as sun print) made with two big, beautiful feathers.
CYANOTYPE PROCESS: This beautiful, tactile process dates back to the 1840's and has been used by photographers, architects and botanists. It is a reminder to slow down and appreciate little things around us. Fun fact, this process was the original blue print that architects used! It is eco-friendly, non-toxic and a way for me to connect with nature and the beautiful little details. I collect feathers while on walks in different places and plants from my garden, which I press in heavy books in my studio. Then I make each sun print cyanotype on light sensitive paper in my backyard using the sun to expose it. It is rinsed, dried and then scanned and turned into greeting cards.
Each card is:
-blank inside so you can write whatever you want to the person you care about
-printed in Minnesota on recycled matte card stock with non-toxic inks
-includes a white envelope and a protective plastic sleeve
